Common Browser and ISP Problems

Passwords, Privacy, and Security:

What are "cookies" and do they affect my privacy?
Surisoft uses "cookie" technology, but this is not a privacy concern because we use these anonymously. Cookies are pieces of information that a Web site transfers to your computer's hard disk for record-keeping purposes. Cookies can make the Web more useful by storing information about your preferences on a particular site, such as your user id and password. The use of cookies is an industry standard, and many major Web sites use them to provide useful features for their customers. Most browsers are initially set to accept cookies. If you'd prefer, you can set yours to refuse cookies. However, you may not be able to take full advantage of a Web site if you do so.

Does Surisoft know or use information about myself given during Registration?
For more information, see Learn about Surisoft Privacy .

How can I protect my information from other people who might use my computer at home or at work?
When you set up your Account in Surisoft, you'll enter a user ID and password. After that, you'll need to enter this information each time you log in to Surisoft.  This protects your information from anybody who does not know your user ID and password--unless you choose to have the computer remember your password. (If the computer remembers your password, it's more convenient for you, because you won't need to enter your password each time; on the other hand, because your password is stored, anybody using your computer could see and work with your portfolio.) As long as you do not sign out (by clicking the icon at the top left of the page), you will not have to sign in again to look at your information.

Common Browser and ISP Problems:

I was trying to use Surisoft and got the message "Server Not Available." What's going on?
At times, due to unanticipated demand, you might temporarily have problems accessing Surisoft. Typically, you'll be able to complete your task if you simply wait a minute and try again.

What time zone does Surisoft use to report times?
Times are recorded in the Eastern time zone -- either Eastern Standard Time (EST) or Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), depending on the time of year.
